“We can lay our manuscripts before the throne of grace,
trusting in God to use them as he wills for the building of his kingdom and the equipping of his saints.”

Mary has spent her life helping leaders and ministries do their best work and make their best contributions in mission. She worked for Wycliffe for twenty years, the last eight years as a consultant on the Global Leadership Team of the Wycliffe Global Alliance.

She has authored a variety of books and articles that have been influential in how people approach sensitive issues in global ministry. For example, Women in God’s Mission: Accepting the Invitation to Serve and Lead won the 2020 book-of-the-year award from Christianity Today for the Missions / Global Church category.

Cross-Cultural Partnerships: Navigating the Complexities of Money and Mission is now in its 7th printing and is precedent literature in the area of global collaboration in mission.

She was the lead editor for Formation for Mission: Discipleship and Identity for Emerging Adults, a book about how to facilitate missional formation in the lives of racially diverse emerging and young adults.

Mary has a PhD in Educational Studies from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and a MA in Intercultural Studies from Wheaton College. She has been an Adjunct Professor in the master's programs at both Trinity and Wheaton, and she has led significant grant and organizational development initiatives at both of these institutions.

She currently teaches in the strategic leadership track of Trinity's Doctor of Ministry program, helping pastors and ministry leaders understand how to navigate and lead change in their organizations. She has also spoken more than 100 times at conferences, leadership retreats, and training events around the globe.

Mary chairs the Global Board of one of the largest mission organizations in the world, Operation Mobilization. She also serves on the board of a small ministry, Catalyst Services, that has a large impact by providing training and resources for churches across North American so they are able to do their best work in local and global mission.
